Liberty Utilities Expansion Plans

Liberty Utilities’ New Hampshire gas utility has been aggressively expanding its territory over the last few years.  Their expansion plans have encountered resistance in many communities, however, leading to:

  • DG 21-008 planned gas expansions with gas contract with Tennessee Gas Pipeline.  Proposed “Londonderry Alternative” instead of Granite Bridge:

  • Cancellation of planned gas expansions into Jaffrey, Rindge, Swanzey and Winchester
  • Hanover and Lebanon’s active opposition to gas expansion into their communities
  • Objections to a natural gas franchise in Keene (and to procedural failings at the PUC), resulting the PUC granting (in part) a motion for reconsideration of its decision and allowing for further proceedings before a final decision.

The major expansion project planned was Granite Bridge – information on this project is being maintained here.
